| Ian looked at a blank canvas the same way a writer looks at a blank piece of paper. The canvas was just a moment in time waiting to be captured, a story to be told. He enjoyed working with large canvases to try to represent the contrast between the intensity of that moment and the continuous march of time. It is the daily reality of man's quest to live to the fullest yet to seize the moment, something Ian achieved throughout his life. As a tribute to Ian, we are trying to consolidate Ian's work on his website. So just a gentle request: if you own one of Ian's paintings, sculptures or sketches (which is not displayed on the site), would it be possible for you to take a good picture of it and to email us the picture at info@ianmcdougall.ca? We'd like to post them. |
