i know you'd hate the idea, but I'm working on a tattoo in memory of you, it'll be my first one, and i know it's going to be beautiful, because even though you'd hate it, you wouldn't have it any other way.
Life getting pretty interesting now, soon I'll be 18 and the very day after the fact I'm moving away to school. I'm more excited than nervous, I've been ready to go for months now, but even though i know I'm ready, it wouldn't hurt if you were keeping an extra eye out for me i could always use it ;)
I know it's been years but I'm still always thinking of you, i don't think my memories of you will ever fade, i can still hear your voice as clear as ever, and i still know just what you'd tell me when it comes to school, boys, or music haha and i can still feel your hands on my shoulders when i need that extra boost of confidence or reassurance. i miss you big guy, keep painting the sky, you never cease to amaze me! (just so know know i love the pinks and oranges the best)

I was sorry to find the notice that Ian had passed away. 3 years after the fact. Ian was a great guy as I recall from high school and I know by reading here that he made a difference in many lives and we should all be so fortunate to leave that legacy. His soul and spirit lives on and will remind us of the sacred nature of our lives here. Do what you love and enjoy every day as if it were your last, I have a feeling Ian would agree. Namaste

Hey Mr.McDougall
So I had my graduation this past week! On top of graduating , one of the bursaries I won was the Ian McDougall bursary . I feel so honoured to have been able to receieved this, it means so much to me. You have had such an impact on my life from my studies to my attitudes on how I go about my everyday life. In september I'm taking an Introduction to fine arts course in college, and I will be thinking of you and everything you taught me through every minute of it ! Thanks for everything; Miss you lots , Britt .

Hey uncle Ian, it's been a while though I know you've always been with me.
My high school years have pretty much drawn to a close. I really only have prom and the graduation ceremony left before the beginning of summer. I wish you could be here in person, it would be so nice to have you at my graduation. I miss your bear hugs quite a bit right now.
I was listening to a song just now and it reminded me of you and the strength you lent to everyone. Could you try spreading it around again like you used to? I think the whole world can do with a bit more strength now.

I just got accepted to teachers college for the fall. I wish I would have been able to tell you in person. I'm so happy right now! :) I'm going to be an art teacher! Thank you for inspiring me so much, and helping me figure out what I wanted to do with my life!

I've never wrote in the guestbook but I visit it often on the days when I miss you or something just randomly reminds me of you.
I'm taking Art now in University and I hope to make you proud.
You influenced and inspired me in so many ways not only in my art but in life.
Thank you for everything you taught me.
You'll always have a place in my heart.

three years already, it's been so long since i've seen your face but i remember it well. No other teacher really took the time to get to know his students like you did. Even though i didn't have great art abilities like the others. you always encouraged me and shared a laugh at my "failed" attempts. You always knew how to make me laugh and i love you for that.
